Welcome back to quilting guru and designer behind the sewing pattern business, Wife-made, Xanthe Grundy. Xanthe joins Nerida Hansen Fabrics as a guest blog contributor and for her first submission she has sewn a collection of beanies using our new Urban Beanie pattern that she created. Rummage through your remnants for a quick and easy sew to keep big and little heads cosy during these chilly months!

With the weather having turned colder here in Australia, it is definitely time to get out those winter woollies and snuggle up.

Which is why I couldn’t resist designing a pattern for the amazing French Terry and Organic Cotton Single Jersey fabrics that Nerida has for us! With so many amazing prints to choose from you can make one for each day, or mix and match and make it reversible.

If you’ve already ordered fabric for another make, this pattern is perfect for using up those remnants, and what’s even better, you can make it in under an hour!

The pattern includes four sizes (toddler through to adult), with illustrations to help you along the way.  I hope you have fun making your own Urban Beanie, and make sure you tag @neridahansenfabrics on Instagram if you do!

We are offering our readers a free pdf sewing pattern of our new Urban Beanie.

    My Sustainability Journey

Sustainability is at the core of everything now. Environmentally, socially, morally. There is SO MUCH MORE to Sustainability than local production or organic fabric.

My biggest learning is that SUSTAINABILITY IS A JOURNEY, NOT AN END RESULT. Very few companies have it right, but we all need to begin somewhere.
