1) Graphic, Web & Creative Assistant

Full time position

Immediate start 

Monday - Friday (non-negotiable)

School hours on most days may be negotiated

$60,000 - $69,000 package depending on experience

2) Casual Warehouse Assistant

Pick and Pack Role (cutting and shipping fabrics and sewing patterns)

8am starts preferred

3-6 hours per day

Industry award (approx $23 per hour)

Graphic, Web & Creative Assistant

Nerida Hansen Fabrics is an exciting independent design company located in Torquay, Victoria.

We are looking for an amazing Graphic Design & Creative Assistant to join our team. The role is a combination of graphic design, art file management and web co-ordination. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining all our brand collateral and digital assets for our online platform.


  • 3+ years graphic design industry experience (please do not apply with less as your application cannot be considered)
  • Strong competency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign – an ability to create repeat patterns is a highly sought skill, but not necessary to be considered
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Layout experience for mood boards, marketing collateral and eDMs
  • High level of technical experience in setting up and management of artworks, including liaising with our textile printing partners around the world
  • Fashion industry experience is preferable
  • You are highly organised as the role involves juggling many tasks with fast paced deadlines

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday and report directly to Creative Director, Nerida Hansen in our Torquay Studio. Full time hours are preferable.

The successful applicant will be exposed to many different aspects of marketing, web and desk top publishing tasks. You will support our wholesale manager, purchasing officer and marketing team, likewise you will receive support from our PR manager and content writer, as well as our UX/UI partner on complex web issues where required.

  • You have advanced graphic design skills and at least four years full time, preferably in a commercial fashion industry environment.
  • You are highly organised with art file management
  • You must be very experienced with Photoshop, InDesign & Illustrator
  • You have a fashion focussed aesthetic and understanding of layout and font hierarchy
  • You understand the importance of executing brand narrative across all platforms and collateral
  • You will have experience with Shopify or similar commerce platform, and a strong understanding of user experience
  • You have a passion for digital & traditional marketing and can surprise with your ideas
  • You are extremely organised and self-motivated
  • You naturally focus on 'the details' to make sure things are correct
  • You like to think big and are constantly learning new things
  • You have a keen interest in fashion and textiles
  • You develop strong effective relationships and know how to maintain them
  • You will not be fussed when asked to do something out of the box


Duties and Responsibilities will include the following:


  • Following briefs to create marketing material - POS boards, swing tickets & look books + image editing (Photoshop)
  • eDM campaign creation – Klaviyo experience preferred
  • Seek to improve the User Experience through regular web audits and providing solutions to the web design
  • Shopify e-commerce management – product uploading and retouching of images
  • Design and deliver one eDM per day (to various segments of our audience)
  • Managing textile print logistics and maintain a high standard of art file management
  • Scheduling and calendaring for upcoming planning
  • Designing and ordering Ad-hoc marketing collateral
  • Well trained (graphic) design aesthetic relevant to luxury branding – with industry refined skills specific to layout and font hierarchy

Warehouse Assistant

Nerida Hansen Fabrics is an exciting independent design company located in Torquay, Victoria.

We are looking for an energetic warehouse assistant to help us prepare our customer orders and ship on a daily basis. Hours are dependent on our events and online sales, and will vary from 3 hours to 6 hours per day.

Our warehouse is a bustling, busy environment where everyone rolls up their sleeves to get the job done. Comfortable clothes and runners are a must, and some heavy lifting is required. We encourage people from all walks of life.  

This role suits someone who is fit with a happy disposition and can be consistent, yet flexible. A passion for fabric and textiles is not a must, but if that sounds like you this job will make you very happy!
